The challenge
Both at the company and at home there were reports of slowness, intermittent outages and a poor browsing experience. The question was whether the problem came from the hardware, the DNS or excessive filtering.

The approach

- 2Identification of excessive filters and rules that caused retries.
- 3Simplification: remove the unnecessary, tune DNS responses, avoid double filtering.
- 4Measurement of the real experience and iterative refinement.

- Security maintained: malware, phishing, trackers and content control.
- Decisions based on evidence (logs), not on intuition.
More filters don't mean more security. Simplicity improves stability, and the user experience should be the main indicator.
